Getting stuck with the right people can make an unexpected 9 hour waiting session not such a waste of time. I spent 9 hours working and solving all the leadership issues in the world in the crown room with Pastor Micah. I had fun…but now im feeling greasy and with I had my baby powder to dry out my hair…great time…thanks Pastor Micah.
Just to Let You Know
26 11 2008I don’t want to write the same post but check my wife’s post out to see what she has to say about the next couple of days.
For that same reason I will not be posting for a couple of days.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Actually you know what I do have something to blog.
24 had their pre season premiere earlier this week. This is one of my favorite shows of all time, so i was like a kid in a huge toy store that could choose whatever and howmuchever he wanted. The 2 hour premiere took place in a place in Africa where a gorilla army was kidnapping kids and turing them into soldiers…Sounds messed up but did you know this really does happen?
So Jen and I went to bed that night and I just had a moment where I started thinking about how much I have to be thankful for…my wife, my daughter, my bed, my 3 covers on my bed, the heater, the bathrooms, the clothes that i have, the roof over my head, the fact that we live of one income and can pay for a home, the food I have, fresh water at any time, 2 cars and motorcycle, a riding lawn mower that I could use as transportation:), the fact that I can have all this stuff, still want more and have the potential to get it…and I could go on.
We really are a blessed nation. Thanks for praying.

Welcome to 2004
16 10 2008Want to see what I looked like in 04…all those years ago…before I was a pastor, when I was an intern for 247!
Sure you do.
Thanks Pastor Micah

The New Opiate for the Masses
15 10 2008This election is out of control. Both sides have me asking, “is there a third side?” I know there is but I have not heard one word about anyone else. With all the media and user commentaries like mine you can get lost in the sea of propaganda. If you watch to many youtube videos or watch a specific network you can get all the facts you want about why the other person is wrong and a communist. Somewhere in my learning growing up I was taught to look at both sides. But as I’m looking and hearing I don’t think there are two sides. One thing that the Republicans and Democrats are good at, is getting people to choose one side or the other, but that’s the only choice. Is it about money, power, greed, control? Is the government so out of control, that everyone is in it for themselves, or are they really for us, and have our best interests in mind. Is the Government just a little corrupt and I’m blowing up all the negative? Was I trained to not trust either side because all you see is slander from both sides? Are we easier to control if we are on one side or the other? Is choosing a political side the new opiate of the masses?

Kelsie Newby
21 09 2008Kelsie Newby raised her hand tonight at prayer to pray for the people who’s lives will be touched and changed with the upgrade to our building. As soon as Pastor Micah called her name my wife turned to me and said “she is the perfect person to pray for that.”, and I agree. I remember meeting Kelsie for the first time at the rocky horror picture show. We talked about the bag of rice in my hand and what you can make with Duct tape. It was a great conversation…really. Not too long after that she started coming to 247 with us and really becoming apart of the church. Eventually she gave her life to Christ and she has been changing lives ever since. She is now a team leader for the alter ministry and doing a great job. She has already recruited two people in the past 2 months she has been a TL. And when I talk to her about the people who just gave their lives to Christ you can really see that she is excited for them and absolutely loves them. She is an inspireation to alot of people…even if she doesnt know it. And I am happy to call her my friend. She is a beautiful woman of God and I am excited to see what else God is going to do through her.
Thanks Kelsie for doing what you do. I love you.

Colorless
14 09 2008I just stepped out of worship this morning and was blown away by our team…no really it was our church. Obviously the music was outstanding, the songs they sang were filled with so much life and peace that I wanted to stay in that moment forever. But what really got me thinking and worshiping was what I saw. If you looked at the people on the stage, you could not tell what the dominate ethnic group is at our church. You just see a colorless group worshiping together. The people on the stage is a representation of our church. Its not just the stage that is colorless, but in our church you cant see the lines either. We haven’t tried to do this it just happens when we can all focus on one thing…our devotion to Christ. When we offer our lives to God and all of our mistakes and failures and issues and sin are taken away from us, we can forget about our past and start over…we can start over. ”In your freedom I will live. I offer devotion.”
Thanks for being colorless.

Home
10 09 2008Its good to be home. I get to hold my wife and daughter again. It was only a few days but I still missed them.
However the conference I was at was great. I picked up something from everyone, and put it in my pocket (thanks Jenn). Pastor Eddie Crabtree talked about being a father in the faith. Why its important and what it means. I understand the importance but I know I only know a piece of it.
Good to be home.

Google Chrome Update
7 09 2008So I like Google Chrome…I haven’t missed my addons from Fire Fox. Jennifer was using the Fox and I went click click click and shut Fire down…just so I could open Chrome. Its really that much faster. I guess speed is better than addons.

Google Chrome
3 09 2008I didn’t even see this coming. But Google now has a web browser out called Chrome. It is faster than Firefox and very sleek. If you know anything about programing or think you do, Google came out with a comic that tells the story of Google Chrome. For everyone elst there are these clever 20 sec videos on Chrome’s features.
I am going to try it out for a couple of days to see if I like it better than Firefox. I may miss my add-ons that Firefox offers. I guess Google will be coming out with some add-ons later…we will see. I feel like I’m switching Churches or something. Going from Fire Fox to this shiny browser. Of course there is no better church than LWFC. I wonder if this will be the case with Firefox.
Have fun surfing with Chrome.
